Operations Coordinator (Part-Time)

Overview

The Apostolate for Marital Intimacy (AMI) is seeking a part-time Operations Coordinator to help support the day-to-day operations of our growing Catholic nonprofit. This remote, independent contractor position (approximately 5 hours per week to start) is ideal for a highly organized, mission-driven individual who enjoys coordinating projects, managing communications, and helping a team operate effectively. Responsibilities include scheduling, communication management, project tracking, website updates, and basic administrative and bookkeeping tasks. Apostolate for Marital Intimacy (AMI)

The Apostolate for Marital Intimacy (AMI) is a Catholic nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening marriages and helping couples experience authentic marital intimacy in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic Church.

As our apostolate continues to grow, we are seeking a highly organized, mission-oriented Operations Coordinator to help support our team, improve communication, and ensure the smooth execution of day-to-day operations.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, problem-solving, and helping a small but growing team operate effectively. The successful candidate will work directly with AMI leadership and play an important role in supporting the mission of strengthening Catholic marriages.

Position Details

  • Position Title: Operations Coordinator

  • Status: Independent Contractor (1099)

  • Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week to start

  • Starting Compensation: $18–22 per hour, depending on experience

  • Location: Remote (Hybrid option available near St. Louis, Missouri 63129)

  • Potential for increased responsibilities and hours as the organization grows

Priority will be given to candidates who are available to monitor and respond to communications during normal business hours throughout the week, rather than completing all hours in a single block of time.

Primary Responsibilities

Communications Management

  • Monitor designated email inboxes, text messages, and phone inquiries

  • Respond to routine communications or route them to the appropriate team member

  • Ensure communications are acknowledged and addressed in a timely manner, generally within one business day

  • Assist with follow-up communications and relationship management

Operations & Project Coordination

  • Maintain project trackers and organizational systems

  • Monitor deadlines and follow up on assigned tasks

  • Help ensure projects move forward efficiently

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend improvements

  • Assist leadership in developing and maintaining organizational workflows

Meeting Coordination

  • Attend weekly team operations meetings

  • Prepare agendas as needed

  • Take meeting notes

  • Track action items and follow up on commitments

Content & Website Support

  • Upload and format blog articles

  • Update website content

  • Assist with newsletters and digital communications

  • Perform routine website administration tasks

Administrative & Financial Support

  • Assist with scheduling and calendar coordination

  • Collect contractor timesheets

  • Assist with payroll preparation

  • Perform basic bookkeeping and recordkeeping tasks

  • Assist with routine banking and administrative financial processes

  • Maintain organized digital records and files

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Excellent written communication

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Attention to detail and follow-through

  • Comfort learning and using technology platforms

  • Familiarity with Google Workspace and common productivity tools

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in administration, project coordination, office management, or nonprofit operations

  • Basic bookkeeping experience

  • Experience managing websites or content management systems

  • Familiarity with Catholic organizations, ministries, or nonprofits
