Current Courses

  • Part I: Introduction to Intimacy

In these lessons, we discuss the overall course plan and rationale. Then we explore the four essential types of marital intimacy—spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical—highlighting how each is interconnected and vital for a fulfilling marriage. It defines intimacy and explains how sex can enhance intimacy. Each type of intimacy is explained in detail, emphasizing the importance of trust, communication, shared beliefs, and mutual attraction in building a healthy marital bond.

  • Part II: The Biology & Psychology of Sex

These lessons dive into the nuts and bolts, the birds and the bees of human sexual intercourse. We start by getting our bearings with an anatomy review, then we study hormones, cycles, and NFP. In hefty lesson three, we get down to the act itself with the sexual response cycle, understanding orgasms, and fertilization. In the longest lesson, we look at sexual development and how sex changes throughout life. In the final lesson, we probe into the mind’s role in sex.

  • Part III: Catholic Teachings on Marital Intercourse

This section begins with the Sacramental Theology of Marriage, highlighting its divine institution, ends, and graces. Building on this foundation, subsequent lessons delve into moral theology, exploring marital acts, the concept of marital debt, distinctions between complete and incomplete acts, common questions, and sins against marital chastity. Together, these lessons guide couples toward holy and harmonious marital intimacy, while preparing for the practical application lessons in the next section.

  • Part IV: Practical Application

This final part translates knowledge into lived experience. We explore how marital intimacy changes over time and offer tools for navigating those shifts with grace. Lessons cover non-sexual affection, communication strategies, initiation, setting the mood, and preparing for intercourse. We also address the use of marital aids like lubricants, lingerie, and sex toys within a Catholic framework. Foreplay, intercourse, and aftercare are all explained with pastoral sensitivity and practical detail. This section helps couples grow in both comfort and confidence, supporting a joyful, reverent, and mutually satisfying sex life that reflects their Catholic values.
