This article responds to Fr. Dave Nix’s claim that oral stimulation as marital foreplay is mortally sinful. It examines the theological authorities he cites and argues that they do not establish such a prohibition. Drawing on respected Catholic moral theologians, the article presents evidence that oral foreplay may be licit within the marital act.
